Sweden Education System
Sweden is a highly developed country, and has set very some high standards in the education. Global brands like Ericsson, Volvo and SAAB has taken its roots from Sweden, which can truly represents the innovation and creativity this country possess in the technology sector.

In Sweden education sector is fully subsidized by the government and the students either local or international pay no tuition fee for their studies, thus making it an attractive destination for genuine students who are not able to afford high fees in other parts of the world. Sweden is now considered as the second most favorite destination of international students in Europe after UK, due to no tuition fee, excellent quality control and evaluation strategies and the high level of research carried out at its universities in Sweden are offering 450 masters programs in English mostly targeted towards international students and covering all most all disciplines.

The Swedish Higher Education System at universities is divided into undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Like any Eurpeon countries, Sweden has a international degree Standerd in its Colleges and Universities.

The majority of study programmes range between 120 and 180 Swedish credits, i.e. three to four and a half years of study since one academic year of full-time studies equals 40 Sw. credits. Both a Swedish Bachelors and Masters degree can make a student eligible for postgraduate/research study.  
 
The most advanced courses (60-80 credit level) at "magister" level can be accepted as partial fulfilment of the requirements of doctoral programme. Professional degrees are awarded in the fields of engineering, health care, agriculture, education, fine arts etc. Programmes leading to professional degrees vary in length depending on their character.   
  

Access and admission to higher education

 
Higher education in Sweden has two strata of eligibility: general/basic and (additional) specific requirements. The general eligibility is the same for all higher education. General eligibility is attained by completing an upper-secondary school programme and obtaining a pass grade or better in courses comprising at least 90 per cent of the credits required for the programme, or by providing proof of an equivalent level of knowledge.
 
People who are at least 25 years old, who have been employed for four years and who have a command of English and Swedish corresponding to that obtained by completing a national upper-secondary programme are also considered to have general eligibility. The specific requirements vary according to the field of higher education and are expressed in terms of upper-secondary school qualifications in specific subjects. restricted admission is used for all study programmes and courses
 
Professional degrees
 
Professional degrees are awarded in the fields of engineering, health care, agriculture, law, education, the arts etc. There are around 60 professional degrees.
